The FARM

BING

How We Began

MisFit Farm was acquired in 2006 as a 16 acre hobby farm that specialized in the rehabilitation of competitive show horses. The farm had been neglected and was overgrown with blackberry and salmon berry bushes.  The fencing was in disrepair, the arena was not completed and the barn was in serious need of TLC.

Yet, when the owner, Teri Herrera, first set eyes on the farm, she could see its tremendous potential and soon her dream of running and owning an equestrian property became a reality. Since 2006 the farm has gradually shifted focus from a strictly equine facility to becoming a working farm as well. The farm now offers organic chicken, beef, pork & organic produce, and is a breeder of South African Boerboels. Each year the farm implements an ambitious plan to continue to improve the land through conservation practices and has been partnered with King County and the King Conservation District both for guidance as well as ensuring the completion of the farm plan.

Where We Are Today

Today, MisFit Farm offers lush pastures for grazing horses and beef, a state of the art 70'X120' covered arena with GGT footing, two equestrian barns and miles of riding trails both on site and adjacent to the farm. The farm orchard offers fresh organic fruits and our newly constructed organic garden and apiary should produce nearly 900 pounds of fresh, organic produce per year. In the spring of 2014 we introduced our first herd of minature angus cattle and our first heritage breed free range pigs. We feel very privileged to live and work on this  little slice of the Pacific Northwest called MisFit Farm.
