Christine Traurig Clinic
December 18-19, 2015
MisFit Farm is excited to host Christine Traurig at the Cavallis clinic scheduled December 18 and 19. Christine is one of the most esteemed and sought after trainers and clinicians in the US. Originating from Germany, She was born and raised on her parent’s farm near Verden, Germany. Her first formal instruction came when she was 12-years-old and attended the National Riding School at Hoya with the legendary trainer Otto Meyer.
After many years in the United States, Christine returned to Germany and began training with Johann Hinnemann, her mentor, where she spent six years under his guiding eye. During her time with Hinnemann she competed at three consecutive Bundeschampionat in Warendorf on Limited Edition placing in the finals (top 8) each year.
With long-time partner Etienne, Traurig was selected to represent the United States Dressage Team at the Sydney Olympics clinching a bronze metal. Traurig was named the US Olympic Committee’s Female Equestrian Athlete of the Year in 2000. In 2002, Traurig and Etienne were selected as the alternate rider for the US to WEG in Jerez, Spain.
In 2005 Traurig moved back to California and to Albert Court where she still currently operates Christine Traurig Dressage Stable. In 2013 Christine became a member of USEF’s Dressage High Performance Committee where she will help create policy and structure of United States team programs and activities. In 2015 she was appointed by USEF to become the United States Equestrian Federation's Young Horse Coach.
